PillDrop is a full-service digital pharmacy, created to make managing medication easy and convenient. Consumers can order their medication online and it will be delivered to any Aotearoa address pre-sorted and packed by date and time. The service is free for anyone taking at least four regular medicines.
Ōtautahi Christchurch health tech company Webtools launched their Centrik platform last year, powering applications that integrate in real-time with the patient's electronic health record. This includes Centrik’s own Well app, the white-label The Doctors app which is rolling out across Green Cross Health’s national network of 60 medical centres, and the Better Health Outcomes app for Better Health Group.
Using Centrik’s consumer health apps, patients are able to connect to their general practice to access their health summary, immunisation history, conditions, lab results, and prescribed medications. Patients can also book and manage appointments, request repeat prescriptions, message their primary care team, and attend virtual consults.
The partnership means consumers will see PillDrop’s online service as an order option when requesting a repeat prescription on Centrik’s patient apps, allowing them to choose to have their medications delivered to their door.
Currently patients would need to be aware of PillDrop’s service and search for it as an option when selecting a pharmacy for their medication request. Adding this as an additional option in the repeat prescription request process provides patients with seamless access to an online pharmacy and delivery option, particularly valuable to patients who cannot easily travel to a pharmacy.
The partnership between Webtools and PillDrop is another step towards a fully integrated and patient-centric system of care, powered by the Centrik platform.
